v3.132: Create multiple groups, Resource-Note

Between spring sunshine, public holidays, and the final preparations for the church festival, there are of course fresh updates in ChurchTools once again. This time included: creating multiple groups at once, saving notes for resources directly within appointments, and a new time filter period for your financial reports. In addition, some legacy features were removed and performance improvements were made.

Create multiple groups at once

Groups can now be created in bulk. This saves time when, for example, you want to prepare several small groups or new home groups for a retreat without having to create each group individually.


Linked appointments are no longer duplicated

When duplicating a group, linked appointments are no longer copied automatically. This helps prevent unintended duplicate appointments.


Redesigned: Wiki

Starting with the Groups module and the Posts module, we have continued to refine and define our new style guide. We have now adapted the Wiki module to this new style as well. Functionally, everything remains the same for now, but this design update was an important step toward upcoming changes.


Faster group members table

The performance of the group members table has been improved. Especially for large groups or groups with many members, lists and loading times now feel noticeably faster.


Add notes to resource bookings

In the resources tab of appointment editing, notes can now be added and edited directly on bookings. The note is stored as the description of the resource booking. This allows you to provide additional information such as setup instructions or special notes directly with the booking.


Alpha Bookstore removed from System settings

The Alpha Bookstore integration has been removed from the System settings. The reason for this is the insolvency of Alpha Buch and the changed circumstances following the acquisition by Francke Buch.

“Deleted” status for booking requests will be removed

The “Deleted” status can no longer be set for resource booking requests. Existing bookings with this status can also no longer be edited. In the medium term, the status will be removed completely. Even though this change cannot yet technically be enforced in the REST API, this status should no longer be used there either.


New filter period for financial reports

In the financial reports for balance sheets and profit-loss statements, the month before last can now also be selected as a filter period. This makes it easier to quickly compare completed months without having to define custom time periods.
