App v0.78: Formatting & Mentions, Wiki Improvements, and Optimized Appointments

Summer is still in full swing – and ChurchTools once again has some practical new features to offer. This time, you can design posts and wiki pages much more conveniently, mention people and groups directly, and benefit from improvements to the wiki, chat, and event planning. Here is an overview of all the changes.

Format posts and add mentions

Posts can now be conveniently formatted and include mentions directly in the app. These options are also available on the web. You can clearly structure your text using headings, lists, tables, quotes, images, links, and other formatting options.

You can also mention people, groups, wiki pages, and songs directly in the editor. These references remain permanently linked to the respective ChurchTools objects and take readers directly to the relevant content with a tap. For example, you can mention the people responsible in a post, link to additional wiki pages, or directly include songs for the next church service.

Existing permissions are, of course, still respected: mentions do not automatically make content visible to additional people but take the existing access rights into account.

Wiki pages created in Markdown format now also display formatting and mentions. This makes their content appear just as structured and clear as in posts. Linked people, groups, wiki pages, and songs are displayed directly within the text, making it easier to navigate through your documentation.

Improved chat styling

The chat history has been visually redesigned and now looks even cleaner. This makes conversations easier to follow and important information quicker to identify.

Improved location search for appointments

The location search used when creating and editing events has been improved. Suitable locations are now found more reliably, allowing you to select venues more quickly.

Clearer display of nicknames

Nicknames are now displayed in quotation marks instead of parentheses. This provides a more natural and readable display of names in the app.

If this is not enough for you, you will find all changes of this and earlier versions in our Changelog.

We hope you like the new version as much as we do. As always, you may leave praise and criticism in our forum.
