The church of Christ is much more than just a local church. We find brothers and sisters in our church associations, in Christian ministries and across national borders. United in faith, we are a family. But what moves our brothers and sisters in faith right now? This question is not always easy to answer. With version 3.114, we are launching a new “Subscribe to posts” feature. This allows us to follow other churches or organizations directly in ChurchTools and take part in what they are doing. So beautiful. 😊
Subscribe to posts
Writing posts in and for your own church is great. But what if you could also read posts from others outside your church in your own feed?
That’s exactly what you can do now! 🎉 This way, each person can follow other churches individually and stay informed. Whether it’s a neighboring church with its public announcements, a Christian organization like Open Doors or your own church association.
The settings for this can be found in the posts module at the bottom left “My settings > Subscriptions”.
You can offer your own group for others to subscribe to. It is important that:
- the group is public
- the function “Group settings > Posts > Allow subscribing to posts” is activated
Filter posts by visibility
With the new “Subscribe to posts” function, the question quickly arises: Which of our posts are public? That’s why we didn’t stop there and implemented another filter in the post search.
It is now possible to filter by visibility in addition to author and group.
Further changes
If this is not enough for you, you will find all changes of this and earlier versions in our Changelog.
We hope you like the new version as much as we do. As always, you may leave praise and constructive feedback in our forum.
