App v0.73: In-app browser, OAuth login & my bookings

The release of ChurchTools Web and the app go hand in hand today. The app now features new login options that also enhance the web experience. In addition, resource bookings can be displayed in the new home page widget.

OAuth login now possible directly in the app

You can now also log in to the app via OAuth. The third-party login systems that the admin can add in the system settings will then also be displayed in the app as login options. This means that you can now log in directly via your SSO provider. This makes access much easier and more secure for users, especially for communities that use central login services, for example. Authenticate once—and you’re ready to go.

Startpage widget for your own resource bookings

On the start page, you will now find a widget with your own resource bookings. This allows you to see at a glance which rooms or devices you have booked. This is useful if you want to quickly check whether everything is reserved before an appointment.

In addition, there is now a new link to “My bookings” in the resource list. This takes you to a filtered booking list that only shows your own bookings.

Links open the app directly

Calendar links now open directly in the app. This ensures a consistent user experience and saves you the detour via an external browser. This is a real advantage, especially when quickly checking appointments on the go.

When you click on a link to your own ChurchTools system in the app, it will now open in the in-app browser, provided the app does not have a native display for the page. The big advantage is that you are automatically logged in and do not have to log in again. This allows you to access the information you want more quickly—for example, if you want to open a detail page from a message.

If this is not enough for you, you will find all changes of this and earlier versions in our Changelog.

We hope you like the new version as much as we do. As always, you may leave praise and criticism in our forum.
