There’s a breath of fresh air at ChurchTools! This time we’ve spruced up the template function, given the group comments an update and introduced some really handy new features for the calendar and the group module. We’ve also tidied up a few older features. Read on to find out all the details!
Processing of bulk letters and donation receipts directly in ChurchTools
The new template editor is already available for emails to create templates directly in ChurchTools. We are now also using this editor for bulk letters and donation receipts. You can edit the templates directly within ChurchTools – without any external tools. This saves time and makes the workflow super simple. For example, you can now create and customize personalized thank you letters directly in ChurchTools or create and update your donation receipt without HTML knowledge.
Personalized certificates for group members
Group members can now download their own personalized certificates (PDFs). Whether confirmations of participation or other proofs – the whole thing is done with just a few clicks. Perfect for course groups, volunteering, parking permits or requests for proof of good conduct!
The certificates can be managed in the group module in the settings. All certificate templates are designed directly in ChurchTools using the template editor and are therefore potentially available for use by all groups.
Which templates may be used per group role to create a PDF can be defined for each role in the settings for the members in the respective group. The selected templates can then be found under Actions for group members in the group member dialog.
HTML templates: Import and export made easy
HTML templates can now be completely exported and imported. This is ideal if, for example, you want to exchange a template between different ChurchTools installations. We offer a KdöR donation receipt template (in German) as a download on this help page: Donation receipt templates.
Notes instead of group comments
What used to be called “Group comments” is now called “Notes”. The new name brings clarity and you can continue to record important information about group members or the group.
Quick search for the group module
The menus in the group module can now be accessed directly via the quick search. No more clicking through submenus – find what you need in seconds!
Share dialog for groups
The group module now has its own share dialog. This allows you to easily share group pages or content, e.g. via a link. You will find the share menu next to the group title on the group overview page. There you will see an arrow next to the pencil icon.
The dialog may offer you three links: Link to the overview page, for registered users. A link to the public group page – this is also where you can log in. And possibly also a link to the group homepage, if this group is used as such.
Placeholders now also in the email subject line
Placeholders now also work in the subject line of emails. For example, you can insert personal addresses or relevant information directly into the subject line – perfect for personalized mailings.
Currently, you still have to type or insert the placeholder manually. You can find out which placeholders are available on our help page: Placeholders in ChurchTools
Calendar: Manage absences yourself
You can now enter and edit your own absences directly in the calendar. This makes planning clearer and less complicated for you and your team.
Minimum age for registration
A minimum age can now be set in the registration process. If, for example, only people over the age of 16 are to register independently, this can now be set. A minimum age between 13 and 18 years can be set.
Finance: Filter for the profit and loss report
In the Finance module, you can now filter the profit and loss report by account type. This helps you to keep a clear overview of certain postings – e.g. only display income or expenses.
Clean up: Security rights adjusted
The “Manage authorizations (administer persons)” right no longer automatically gives you the highest security level for persons. This keeps the administration clearer and more secure.
Further changes
If this is not enough for you, you will find all changes of this and earlier versions in our Changelog.
We hope you like the new version as much as we do. As always, you may leave praise and constructive feedback in our forum.
